I'm sure this thread might get locked/deleted, but oh well, do what you must. I think it's about time we kept track of what Cxbx is capable of doing so that every new person to Xbox emulation can know what to expect. Also, I'm just crossing off one thing on sir Caustik's todo list.
I moved the list to the page below to make it easier for me to maintain...
EDIT2: You'll also notice I've added a new catagory called "Nothing". What does this mean? Yes, it's obvious, but there's more to it on this list. For a game to qualify for the "Nothing" status, the game must not only do nothing, but not crash either. So far, only a few games do this.
EDIT3: If you find a game that's not on the list with any compatibility with Cxbx, feel free to post screens so I can update the list. And if you do, PLEASE tell us what XDK it uses or attach an xbe dump. Thanks.
Rayman removed. I wish Kingofc would come back and share his work with us so it can become part of the mainstream code, but oh well... I guess I'd better keep working...
Hi people!say me please what play on Pc in Oddworld Munch Odyssee ?real this in general?searched for worker an emulator, but so has understood that his ....!excuse me for my english! I russian =)
OMG, I am russian too, and I barely understand you. Anyway - you can't PLAY anything using xbox emus (both of them) - they are not THAT advanced. Just wait (maybe for a couple of years?) or play it on your xbox. You DO have a xbox, don't you?
You can also ask me in PM about the details...
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is not playable. Don't expect to run that anytime soon. Everything that works (as far as we know) is on the compat list. There are tons of games that haven't been tested, but it takes time to find good candidates (based on known and available XDK) to emulate on Cxbx.
It's a list of what has been shown to work. FYI, most of these games won't work in the latest release of Cxbx. They are mainly the results of private betas that sir Caustik, martin, and I have been working on. My branch hasn't been uploaded to the SVN yet. Turok is the only playable game that you can play from beginning to end, the rest just show menus, intros and other random garbage. There may be more games, but they just haven't been tested yet.
Begin offtop:
What 4 consoles are you going to buy? Because I think that price of Core2Duo processor is not THAT high.
And you DO know that if you want to use the emulator you HAVE to own the console itself, don't you? Because if you don't, you'll get no help here.
End offtop.
Yeah, I know it's a bit old, but I never did get the skip video hack working for that game yet. With this game it's complicated because it doesn't use anything like bink videos (which are easier to skip), so some more reversing needs to be done to find out what is causing the crash when trying to play the videos. This particular game is rather frustrating to work on because of it's internal complexity, but I haven't given up yet. Sometimes when I get frustrated with a project, I just walk away from it for a while, and end up learning more than I did before. I ended up fixing alot of bugs that way.
btw, I just wanted to edit the list and show that only the PAL version of BattleStar Galactica works so far. I just bought the NTSC version this afternoon (along with 3 other games). Is anyone interested in seeing this run at all?

Thank you for the post mate, the hack theory had me so curious.
I am extremely interested in seeing what will run. I'd be testing all the games I got (and I got a butt load), but Alas I don't have the necessary equipment to backup my disks nor the confidence.

This is what I use to dump my games since my Debug Xbox is crapping out on me. Buy this drive, then flash it with the firmware, and you're all set. btw, if you find out you have any games using XDK 4361 or 4627-5028 (exclude 4831 games), let me know Games with those XDK versions have been hard to come by. In the meantime, I'll see if I can surprise you with another game (hopefully)
