I have hard copies of Halo\2, Star Wars: Battlefront II, Doom 3\Resurrection of Evil, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War. I don't want to download an .XBE from a website. All the tutorials I've read for Cxbx, Xeon, and Dxbx all say to "find the .XBE on the Xbox disc." all I found is a stupid video folder for when you put the xbox disc in anything that ISN'T an Xbox.
You need to network the xbox to pc and put the disc in the xbox and access the files through the pc via the network... The files especially the file in question are done in a different disc format that is unreadable in pc but readable in xbox
Hello and welcome to the official CXBX forums! Use this forum to provide feedback to the authors and post any queries you have about the project. Before you start posting you should know what is allowed and what is not.
Please read our forum rules. They will provide most of what you need to know. Please do not ask where you can get any application or game developed using the Microsoft XDK. These are made using Microsoft libraries which only professional developers are granted to use. They are illegal to download, therefore we can not provide you with any links.
Do not ask when a future version is coming out. Releases come when they are ready and when the author feels a release serves a purpose.
To get the XBE files out of your retail game you must either; A)Have the hacked DVD-ROM firmware which enables your PC DVD-ROM player to read Xbox DVDs, or B) Use your modded Xbox to dump the game itself.
The DVD firmware is specific on what DVD Drive you have. There is not universal firmware that will work on all DVD Drives. Chances are there is not hacked firmware for your drive. Do not ask us where to get it, because more than likely we don't know. Only specific drives have this special type of firmware available... Generally specific models of Samsung. Even with the hacked firmware you still have to modify the drive my soldering a few connections.
Also be informed this. Do not ask if you can emulate PS2 or GCN on XBox. It is not logical nor is it worth the time trying. Any threads regarding this manner will be deleted.
also if u can make ur disk into an iso there is a iso to xbe converter called xiso manager that works just have to rip ur cd and i forget the program to do that
Try right-clicking your cd-rom drive and click properties. Tell the cd-rom drive to read the RAW DATA ONLY!
