So, post some of then. These screenshots weren't meant to be posted anywhere, but I thought a thread like this would be a good idea and, since I have to start, I'm posting a few pics of some games I've been playing lately.

I'm not embedding all the pics because it's not necessary.

The games are:

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Booom.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Come here, you ugly clown.

Left 4 Dead

Give Blood. Save lives.

Need For Speed: Shift

I'm good at this.

Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl

Stalker has the most life-like sky I've ever seen in a game.

Yeah, New Vegas is just one of those games I feel the need to play again every once in a while.
The effect is also increased by Wasteland 2 being somewhat shallow. I'm enjoying it, but it doesn't reach the high notes of its predecessors.

That game is one that desperately cries out for an HD remake. Shame not a lot of people played it when it came out. :(

It's probably bad that I have no clue what that is.

Didn't know you were into Stealth. That's sooo the wrong AR to play in though. It really is high time you got yourself another screen. I could understand if it was CRT, but it's already an LCD so there's no point in hanging onto it and a 19-21" 1600x900 would allow you to play the same low res for more performance game you've been playing.

I got bigger worries and need money for more important things then a new monitor even more so when there's nothing wrong with my current one (19"), the picture quality is still very good and if we take into account older anime as well the ratio works best with all formats, since it can also display if i want wide formats without stretching the image.

There's no such thing as stretching the image on a PC monitor...ever. There is always an answer that maintains the aspect ratio. So that's no reason.

But yeah, the money thing hurts so that I can understand. Still, if you ever do have a bit of spare cash again it really wouldn't be a bad idea to get a new screen so you always see what you're meant to see in a game rather than only what your AR allows. Especially in a Stealth game it's always important to be able to see as much as possible.

Yes, but at less than a quarter of the pixel count it's meant to have.

It definitely seems like they're making more efforts than DA2, which was just such a lazy game.
My main issue is the horrible controls. It feels like a better RPG, but the controls SUCK.

It uses WASD to move the character (Q and E to strafe) while Left Click is used to attack (not TARGET and attack, but clicking swings your weapon regardless of whether there is any enemy or not) and Right click is used to interact with the environment,
It's not practical. Switching both "clicks" around (in the options) makes the scheme a little less confusing, but it's still not a good way to control the character.
It's the opposite of what my intuitions tell me I should be doing. I want to move the camera - swinging in empty air.
I want to click something - swinging in empty air.
Great job, commander. You sure kicked that air's ass.

Then there's the part where I don't like how the AI controls, either. I'll have to look harder to see if the game gives me as much control of the AI as Origins did (unlikely) or any control at all (I hope) because right now they're incredibly suicical. I tell them to station themselves far away from the boss, only to see them slowly inch closer and closer over the course of the fight.

Outside of those two things frustrating me, I like the rest of the game - for now. I'm still incredibly early in the game, but it gives me the impression that the developers at least knew what people didn't like in DA2 and want to do things differently this time around.
Later on, I'll be able to tell if they succeeded.

Also, performance isn't too bad for me.

Thanakil stop trying to play it like a CRPG. This thing has the soul of what was left of 38 Studios as it's base so it's gonna play best as an action RPG. It's no point and clicker. From what I can see from later vids it feels a lot like XCOM Declassified (as opposed to how they originally showed the isometric control), shoot with left click, specials with right click and press E to interact. Or if you ignore the strategic layer it will probably also be quite similar to how you played Oblivion once upon a time. And you'll probably find it's a lot happier an intuitive with a XOne controller (or inferior 360 controller :p). I hate to say it but Mouse and Keyboard are probably not much good here.

I'd let ya know whether it's any better that way but Denuvo will prevent any "demoing" and I'm waiting for a hopeful future Ultimate Edition of the game with all DLC since this is BioWare we are talking about and they like DLCing up the extra bits of a game one most wants to see (Protheans). Not that their games are bad without DLC or the DLC are essential but I'd say out of all the devs they most end up making you feel miserable if you don't have the DLC comparing DaO to pre and post Ultimate Editions. And I can't buy from Origin so....

Oh, I've been playing it like an action-RPG, considering it's closer to DA2 than DA:O. It's just that even as an action game the controls just don't feel very good.
With that said, specials are not on the right click, they still keep one click for interactions and exploring. Skills are on the action bar, like previously.

It plays the same way as the previous games, it's just that now you have to manually tell your character to attack *by holding a button* and they decided to link it to one mouse button.
It's a very silly idea. Keeping the button held is effectively the same as DA:O or DA2 where you'd click a monster once and then your character would attack continuously. It's just that now you have one finger busy during that time.
It's not good design. The game also lets you hold the R button for attack instead, which I prefer to do. I haven't seen a way to unbind the mouse clicks tho, only swap them around.

Other than that, the game does a better job at world building than D2 did. More variety, more story behind the various locations and characters.
It's obviously better than D2 and might very well be a better-than-average game, but I'm still too early in to say how good or bad of a RPG it is.

Inversion

Running just shy of 4K downsampled to 2560x1440. It plays like Gears of War meets Red Faction, except they took away anything cool about the protagonist and made him the definition of generic white guy. Plays kinda clunky, doesn't flow very well, but eh, it does some cool things. Looks okay, janky animation kinda hurts it a bit, and the lighting is pretty simple. Eh, it's okay I guess.

I've always been a little disappointed that Boris never went back and fixed his Vampire Bloodline's ENB.
It added a very neat effect to some surfaces which helped to reduce to flat they looked. An example here:

The big issue with his ENB tho is that it sometime/often breaks during cutscenes. Someone turns the light off and everything becomes incredibly dark. It has a few other downsides (stupidly bright picture, ugly bloom/blurry effect) but those are actually fixed by editing the ini.
I haven't found a way to fix the "darkness" bug.

Using SweetFX, it's actually possible to find somewhat of a compromise between the vanilla game and the ENB profile, but it still sadly miss the neat surface effect + the different lighting used in ENB.

At least, using Sweetfx means I can force AA through the drivers. ENB doesn't exactly like those.

You've lost that dude standing in the shadows on the left but other than that your SweetFX version does indeed look good.
