ePSXe 1.9.0 - Critical Bug

Hello!

I tested this on both Windows XP and Windows 7.

What happens is that when I run a CD (any) the emulator will cause the system to lose the DVD device at random (but pretty soon, a matter of a minute usually) point.

The emulation of course stops because Windows no longer sees any DVD device installed. What is worse is that a soft reset often doesn't solve the situation (the system will still not see the DVD).

It often needs a hard reboot. This happened with two different devices: a DVD and a Blu Ray.

This happens consistently and can be avoided by loading images instead. I tried searching for a similar report but I found none.

Anyone who has any idea of what's happening?

Hello KrossX!

First of all, thanks for your help.

The problem happens with both the internal and SaPu's CD plugin and happened also with the PSX-R emulator using SaPu's CD plugin and Pete's CDR plugin, the default one.

I tested the same disc using pSX 1.13 without problems.

Holy crap, I was having the same exact problem. I thought it was some type of hardware failure. I swapped out all my SATA data and power cables for new ones and the problem seemed to stop. I only tried EPSXE using the internal CDR plugin. I don't remember if I was running Windows 8 or 8.1 at the time but I do know it was a x64 build of Windows.
