ANNOUNCE: Dolphin Now Open Source - EmuTalk.net

---

FAQ:
Q: How do I enable the dynarec or dualcore mode? I dont see it in the GUI...
A: The GUI now uses wxWidgets, many parts have changed. In order to change these settings, open up Dolphin.ini in wordpad and look for these lines:

  • UseDynarec = True
  • UseDualCore = True
  • Throttle = True
First setting is for choosing interperter or dynamic recompiler. Second option is to specifiy the dualcore mode. Last option is the cpu limiter (some people call it a framelimiter but thats not the right word...).

Even though it is stated for these builds of Dolphin that there were no compatibility fixes, at least none that were known I have found some minor things that were fixed.

For example the issue with Sonic Adventure 2 Battle freezing on the City Escape level seems to be fixed for at least the 32-bit version. I played through the entire City Escape level without it freezing or locking up.:)

Windwaker telescope bug appears to be fixed as well.

Using the Dolphin x86 version since the 64-bit compile isn't working, the new OpenGL graphics plugin, and the DSP-Null plugin (For some reason I can't use the normal sound plugin else I get an error).

EDIT: and some sound...(nowhere there is sound for me :/)
I tryed SSBM as well but I'm stuck at the "press start" screen... I tryed every keyboard button but nothing happens, except the demo starts after some time.... how did you get it to work?

Just wanted to tell that the dx9 plugin in the Binaries didn't work for me (emu failed to load it), I had to recompile it from the sources for it to work, so if some plugin doesn't work for you I recommend you recompile it yourself. Just in case anyone else had a similar problem....

@daco: keys are set but the "start" doesn't work... the other keys work correctly tho.... I'll check better when I have some time....

Well I managed to get the 64-bit build working on Vista 64-bit, don't know what the problem is with XP-64.

It seems the 64-bit version is no faster than the x86 version and is quite a bit slower in comparison to the last Dolphin 64 Beta 3 release on my machine.

I already enabled Dynarec and Dual core but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.:(

I think something is fubar'd with the 64-bit compile like it wasn't compiled properly as speed is no different than the x86 version, and it is quite a bit slower than the last Dolphin 64 Beta 3 release as mentioned above.

is it me or is the new dolphin MUCH Slower?

i set UseDynarec,UseDualcore and Throttle to True,
get around 12 fps average in Zelda Windwaker.

but 30 fps in the old Dolphin 64 Beta 3.

i'm using vista 64 SP1.
for me when i used the opengl plugin in zelda WW, it was much slower then with the dx9 plugin, so you could try to change plugins.
