Does Dolphin work with USB sensor bars?

As much as I enjoy playing Dolphin, a recurring gripe I have is that I can't use my wireless sensor bar too long because it drains the batteries incredibly quickly. Even with a six hour charge, they're dead after 2-3 hours. So I decided to buy a USB sensor bar instead. I imagine I just plug it in for it to receive power, but my Wiimote can't get any kind of a signal from it whatsoever. Did I do something wrong here?

Do you have another you can test with? Assuming your WiiMote is configured on the windows stack properly and associated with Dolphin through the config then you may just have a bad IR sensor bar.

I use these with my motion plus inside wiimote. I do not see visible lights but it does work. You have to get a good distance away so that it will work though. Maybe your wii mote got disconnected? If so you will have to re-enable it with the blutooth manager first and then proceed to play. Make sure you get about 7 feet away too. Maybe that will help.

Along with this, I use:

Because normal charging wii mote batterpacks lose power way too fast.

I also use

to add more ports for this stuff on my laptop. A bit wobbly but it still gets the job done.

$25 for a sensor bar?! Surely there's a cheaper alternative out there.

Anyway, I emailed the seller whom I purchased my sensor bar from and he agreed to send me a replacement. So I plug my replacement into the PC and.... it doesn't work either! What am I doing wrong? There's no power button, so I assume you just plug it into the USB port and that's it. Why aren't the IR lights on this thing turning on?

Yeah, I said the same thing. But there's no other sensor bar that is less bulky and more portable than this one. So what canya do :p

You didn't say whether or not you enabled it in the bluetooth manager first. You have to sync it with the stack before you can do anything with it.

If I have to sit seven feet away from the screen for the Wiimote to detect the sensor properly, it's hardly convenient anyway. I'd rather be closer to my desk and keyboard, thanks.

And what are you mentioning the Bluetooth stack for? My Wiimote works fine and can detect my battery-powered sensor bar as long as it lasts, but I would rather have a USB sensor bar in constant operation.

That's the same thing with the wii. You can't be up close on the tv while you play. You need space. 7 feet away is not that far away though. It's just the length of your body and then a little more. I'm mentioning the bluetooth stack because you can't just plug it in and play, you have to say yes on the stack first. Once you turn the wii mote off, you always have to say yes on the stack operations to reactivate it.

That's why it is inconvenient to press alt+f5 to reconnect with dolphin when it gets disconnected. I told the dolphin team this and they went apeshit and didn't listen :p I proposed to just have all the buttons be able to do the activation like the real console. So now, ppl gotta say yes on the bluetooth stack and then press ctrl+f5 if it disconnects. I'm using the toshiba stack btw.

This is all wide of the point. There's nothing wrong with my Wiimote. The Bluetooth dongle I bought for it came with a stack called "Bluetooth Places", which connects with the Wiimote just fine. The problem is that the IR sensor bar simply doesn't turn on regardless of where I'm sitting.
