Seems like GLide64 is really close to be released to public, only 2 weeks left!!!
This is straight from the blogspot:

Hello,

Time for PC version release is come. All project supporters with perk "Early Release" will get link to archive with the plugin.

The archive contains the following builds:

- Win32 build for Mupen64Plus emulator. Put the dll file to emulator's folder and setup the emulator to use GLideN64 as graphics plugin. Run any rom. On the first run plugin creates settings section in emulator's configuration file. You may either edit it in text editor, or use one of Mupen64Plus frontends.
- Win32 build for Zilmar specs emulators: 1964, Mupen64, Project64 and others. Copy dll and ini files to emulator's plugin folder and setup the plugin to use GLideN64 as graphics plugin. Open video settigs configuration dialog and setup it for your taste. Read tooltips for options explanations.
- Ubuntu64 build for Mupen64Plus emulator. Making working binary distributive for Linux is tricky, so there is no warranty that it will work. Public release of the plugin will be open-source, and then you will be able to build the plugin from sources.

During development I solved literally hundreds of issues. More than hundred is still not fixed. If you want to open new bug report, please check already open issues first.

Public release will be two weeks after the "Early Release", stay tuned. I'm planing to spend these two weeks on code cleanup and preparations to Android port works.

OK here's some of the features of GLideN64 that I found:

- LLE and HLE graphics support.
- Accurate N64 mipmapping.
- Semi-accurate N64-style bilinear filtering.
- Heavily improved framebuffer support over previous plugins.
- Widescreen hack.
- Anti-aliasing.
- Heaps of game compatibility improvements over previous plugins.

Where is it implemented? I've checked the Retroarch Github and so far it only listed changes to the GLN64 render plugin. I don't see the GlideN64 plugin selectable in the retroarch core options for Mupen64AE. I don't see the plugin as selectable in the Windows builds either. I'm talking about the nightly builds here.

There may be some confusion here as there is the old Glide64 plugin available in the options, but it's been there for ages. GlideN64 is not listed in Retroarch yet for a render selection.

Well I tested all my games with the plugin yesterday on Project64 2.2.0.3 and it worked beautifully.
The WideScreen hack option was there but I'm on 4:3 so I don't really care for it.

I usually use default settings anyway.

Guess I can retire Glide64 Final now...

Well scratch that comment of everything working beautifully because Doom 64 have severe bugs and is screwed up.
BUT I must say it's neither Glide64 Final or GLideN64s fault but rather Project64 2.2.0.3 and the more thoroughly I have tested it the more annoyances with the latest Project64 release I have found.

It's a shame really because I thought Project64 2.2.0.3 was going to fix all the problems I've had but instead it created new ones.

I've reverted to 1.7.0.50-rev23 and both Glide64 Final and the new GLideN64 plugin is working perfectly on it.

I have been testing this new Glide version and I can say I'm pretty happy about it, however there are still too many bugs and things that need to be fixed before the final release. I'm so far very impressive about it, what is great about it, is the high definition feel, a very good hardware is a must if you want to see what i'm seeing.

I would like to use the plugin with mupen64plus. But it seems the configuration (mupens cfg file) is empty and the custom ini cannot be used. Mupen64plus surpassed project64 in many many aspects. Together with M64Py it provides a excellent emulator. Therefore I would like to use this plugin with that emulator.
However I am struggling with the configuration of gliden64.

Project64 2.2.0.3 is not so good as it looks if you scrape the surface.
The deeper and deeper you dig you'll find more and more stuff broken.

I'm sorry but I can't recommend using any of the 2.x.x.x versions of Project64 at all, stay away.
I've gotten numerous crashes, sound scrambled and other oddities with these newer versions.

You'd be better of with 1.6 or hell even the leaked 1.7.0.50 rev23 build which I personally use.
GLideN64 seems to work great on that one and I haven't even got a single crash so far.

The Nintendo 64 emu scene have always been a complete mess to me.
I finally thought I could update to a new version of Project64 but no it just ain't gonna happen.

I guess I'm gonna stick with 1.7 for the rest of my life, not that it's a bad thing or anything, but you would think it would have come farther then what it is today.

Anyway emulating he Nintendo 64 have always been trial and error. At least 1.7 works with pretty much anything and everything, at least for me.

I see thanks, I know bit of a shame you have to .

Sorry can't refind that older release , just get a lot of fake internet .exe rubbish

Could you upload to any host you like and PM it to me ?

I think I may need to get rid of that windows 7's 64bit too, I had less issues when on windows xp sp 3 .

Thanks.

I don't know what to say, it's strange that it just won't work for you.
It could just be so easy that it's hardware related but I don't know.

Again it works just great here especially after reverting to Project64 1.7

The package you downloaded is by Henryxs87 BTW, he's known to make RDB changes so that's why the 2012 is in the zip file name.

That's the cleanest *leaked* package of Project 1.7 with an updated RDB that I know of and also the one I use myself.

Hope the final release of GLideN64 works for you, it's a shame that it have to be like that for you because you're missing out on a wonderful plugin.

Any thanks for trying too ^ .

It must be a hardware issue, I get it on gom player too only when running a movie's from dvd drive .

APPCRASH , only with Lav plugin from K-lite codec , on my last PC modem I did not have this problem .

But I need the new PC for it integrated nvidia card .

Seams a hardware and software, Maybe with 64bit ?, maybe I could try 32bit windows on a spare harddrive but need to buy sata , old pc was ide .

sorry but there is no way i can recommend older versions of pj64, i remember when i had a external firewall in the times of 1.6 and the emulador accessed the internet without you knowing (i surely didnt know till i got this firewall) so the hopes are with ppl who fork/remove whatever tries to access the internet inside it.

See how awkward this is? That's why the N64 emu scene is a complete mess since you can't really recommend anything to someone.

You can't recommend older versions for whatever reasons and I can't recommend newer versions for whatever reasons.

What can be recommended? Well f*** it let's just go back to the real thing and forget about shitty emulators and plugins, right?

Anyway if there is just one version of Project64 that I would recommend and use for the rest of my life it's 1.7.0.50 rev23.
Turn off internet and you're safe to go, why play with internet to begin with?

I can say that on my end it's working better then any of the newer 2.x.x.x builds and 1.6

People says all the time that 1.7.0.50 rev23 is unstable as hell, well I can't really agree on that because it ain't if your computer/plugins is up to snuff.

These are the plugins I recommend for it:

Controls: N-Rage Input v2.3c
Audio: Azimer AziAudio v0.70 WIP 4 (XAudio2)
GFX: Glide64 Final or the newly released GLideN64 Public Release 1

That's it really, that's all you need for a relatively smooth N64 experience on your computer.

i dont understand the point of your rant at all, all i wanted to do was report that something that is happening now (spyware to say the least) also happened with previous version, whatta hell is wrong with you to act like that?
