I know this problem was there for years but i thought it was fixed by now, after I start a new game i get endless black screen, so is there any fix? Im using 1.9.25 version, here are my settings

It might be a copy protection of the game. You might need to patch it. Or convert the file, as Blue Thunder said.
I had the same problem with Crash Team Racing, until I used a patch on it. Now it works perfectly.

Or maybe it's another problem that is specific to TR2, but it sure looks like a copy protection. You should try the game with another emulator (SSSPSX, PCSXR, ...), to check if the problem also happens (copy protection) or not (game specific bug).

There is no Copyprotection and no need of a special Fix.
I've tested the Game from CD and as Image (RunIso) poor as riped (CloneCD-format).
It start normal. After choosing NewGame a small FMV and a LoadScreen is shown. Sky Mountain Photography Tree Landscape
Sky Mountainous landforms Mode of transport Mountain Cloud

Then the Game starts. Nature Tree Biome Leaf Woody plant

I've tested the Gamestart it seems to work. But I did not continued from here... (Tombraider isn't my penchant)
Used Settings:
ePSXE 1.9.25
Internal SPU Core (only this is working good with CDDA Tracks)
Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9
GFX card: GeForce GTX 650 Ti/PCIe/SSE2

Maybe you have a bad Image.
It make no sense to convert a bad image, into other formats. This will not heal demaged Data...
Make a new Image of your own CD (best with CloneCD).
