PS1/PS2 emulator to PS3/PSP/PS Vita (and vice-versa) save conversion service

As the thread title suggests, I can convert saves from PS1/PS2 emulators (e.g., .MCR and .PS2) to any of Sony's current save formats (e.g., VMP, PSV). I can also convert PSV and VMP saves back to MCR/.PS2, but you can easily do this yourself with tools such as MemcardRex (PS1) and MyMC (PS2, along with PSVExporter and PS2 Save Builder). I cannot convert PS3 game saves to PS Vita cross-play saves, sorry. That requires me to own each game in question. In this case, PSV specifies a save file type for Playstation 1 and Playstation 2, NOT the Playstation Vita system.

The saves I provide for you do not require a hacked console of any sort to operate.

Not requesting a specific format will lead to me assuming you want your save converted to .PSV format (used by Playstation 3).

Instructions for posting a save on this thread:
1. Attach PS1 or PS2 saves in any format (.MCR and .PS2 are preferred, but I have tools for any old PS1/PS2 save format).
2. State what you want done with them, such as .MCR to .PSV, or .MCR to .VMP.
3. After I convert them, you need to do one of the following:

If I gave you .PSV file(s) for a PS3:
1. Get a USB stick or some other media your PS3 can read from, and create a set of folders: PS3/EXPORT/SAVE (that is, make a folder called PS3 on your USB device, in that make a folder named EXPORT, then inside EXPORT, make one last folder called SAVE.
2. Put your .PSV file(s) inside that SAVE folder, and then use your PS3 to import the save(s) in the Memory Card Utility (PS1/PS2) on the XMB.

If I gave you .VMP file(s) for a Vita:
1. Use Sony's CMA, OpenCMA, or QCMA to make a backup of your preferred PS1 game's saves.
2. Go in to your documents folder, or wherever you have the CMA program store your files, and find your PS1 save data's .VMP files.
3. Overwrite SCEVMC0.VMP or SCEVMC1.VMP with the .VMP I gave you, and then copy them back to your Vita, again using CMA.

If I gave you .VMP file(s) for a PSP:
1. Connect your PSP to your PC/Mac/whatever, and enable the USB connection.
2. Browse your PSP's Memory Stick and go to /PSP/SAVEDATA/<your ps1 game id here>, and overwrite SCEVMC0.VMP or SCEVMC1.VMP with the .VMP I gave you.

After that, your saves should show up in-game on your PS Vita, PSP, or PS3.

Other notes:

Converting saves to .PSV by yourself requires a hacked PS3.

Converting saves to .VMP by yourself requires requires a hacked PS Vita or PSP.

Converting saves from .PSV or .VMP back to .MCR/.PS2 does not require a hacked console either. Multiple tools exist to convert these types of saves.

Hi Dax!

I've been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to do this myself and actually think I understand how to do it. Only thing is PSX Raw Converter crashes every time I drag the .mcs file onto it. No matter what I do it won't work! I've already extracted the individual saves from the .mcr file so they are all .mcs files. It's only 4 saves (FF8, FF9, Dragon Warrior 7 and Harvest Moon). I will appreciate so much if you can convert these so I could play them on my PS3. The link for my save data is below, inside a zip file.

I do realize that this is my only post to this forum. If there is anything I can do in return just let me know.

All Best,

Michael

OMG! Your post just somehow reminded me that there were 2 other game saves but I can't find them! I have saves of Arc the Lad 1 and Arc the Lad 2. But the big question is; where are they!?

When I open the .mcr file in MemcardRex it shows that besides the other games saves there are 2 that say "Linked Slot (middle link)" and 1 that says "Linked slot (end link). Could these be the saves for the 2 Arc the Lad games I mentioned? If so, then why don't they say that? Weird... I've uploaded that file for you to check out.

I hope I'm not overloading you here! I know I just increased this request to 6 game saves. Your service is very much appreciated. So, take your time with it. No rush at all! You really don't have to do this for people but you seem to want to. More power to you!

All Best,

Michael

EDIT: Sorry, just realized you said to upload no more than 5 saves and I uploaded 6. If you want to stick to those rules than just skip over the Harvest Moon save. Sorry about that! My mistake!

yess.....

Hell yeah man! :D:D It worked, least so far it's fine.
Extracted the folder and put them onto the PS3 as you instructed on the previous post...5 minutes later I'm playing where I last left off. Fcuking awesome bro.

I thank you very very much and no worries on how long (or little, when you really think about it) it took. If I encounter any problems I'll let you know but from how it's going on now I don't think so. Once again, thanks man! :thumb:

Thank you so much Dax! Unfortunately I don't have my PS3 to test them yet. It just YLOD a couple nights ago. What horrible timing right? I'm getting it fixed though so hopefully I can try these out soon. I really appreciate your help. Were you able to extract Arc the Lad 1 & 2? I didn't see their names when I looked at the save on my PC but I know they had to be there since it was the only save file I had.

Once again, thank you so much!!!

on the content, it seems that the author is thanking someone named Dax for something related to PS3. However, they mention that they don't have their PS3 at the moment because it had a YLOD a couple of nights ago. They are hoping to get it fixed soon so that they can try out something mentioned by Dax. Additionally, the author asks if Dax was able to extract Arc the Lad 1 & 2 as they didn't see their names when they looked at the save file on their PC.

Sweet!!!

This is Awesome! I've been looking for a couple of weeks now to see how to do this myself and was just about to give up until I came upon this post.

I have a link to a mediafire file here: http://www.mediafire.com/?99qk48ja5s4nyg0

The file is in *.mcs format. If there's any problems with it, just post a reply and I'll see if I can provide a different format instead.

I really appreciate what you're doing for me and everyone else. I'm new to these forums, but if there's something you need help on just ask. I'll do my best to help out.

Again, thanks!:thumb:

I lost access to my old account here, so I guess it looks like I'm a newbie.
But I'm not, even though I was a member, I think I lost access because the email I signed up with was a hotmail account :(

Anyways, I was hoping you'd be so kind as to get these 2 save files for me, though the one I really want is just legend of dragoon. The other one isn't as important. I've tried everything I could to just do it myself, I've done it in the past, but I can't seem to do it anymore.
Thank you in advance! <3

It's probably obvious what I want, but just in case I'm looking to get these changed over to psv so that I can play them on my ps3.
Thanks so much for the help once again!
