Since the official Dolphin forum is an asshole that deregistered my account, and won't allow threads to be created in their projects subforum without 100 posts, I say screw it, and make the development thread of this texture pack HERE instead.
Turns out you need to just post in the General section first and ask the mod to move it. I'll do that when the main spriteset is finished. That what happens you're fueled by rage at 3.00am in the morning, won't do this slip-up again. Still, NGEMU first since this is my homebase.

Official release is out in the Dolphin forum.

Texture pack name: 2K Momohime addon pack
Status: Technical Preview 1 (alpha version, lotsa unfinished stuff)
Compatibility: Tested with Dolphin 4.0-7375
Download link: [MEGA] [Dropbox]

Requirements: A graphics card with at least 1gb of VRAM, I think. 2gb to be safe. The frickin texture is 2048x2048 you know.

Description: This is a redrawn texture set of Momohime as well as Momohime's stuff, at 2x to 4x the original size. As such, it also rather pointless at 1080p, but there is a workaround to get the most out of it (see FAQ). It is NOT a simple filter upscale (for the most part). The detailings as well as alpha edges of the textures are attempted to be retouched based on official artworks as well as the official Momohime figurine.

Contents:
  • Main Momohime spriteset (obi sprites, scabbard and eyes incomplete)
  • Supplementary Momohime combat spriteset (imports from main spriteset incomplete)
  • The three starter swords (only certain angles completed)
  • Crossguard (only certain angles completed)
  • Sword hilt (for first sword; only main angle completed)
Installation guide:
  1. Download Kevlahnota's 2xHQ Texture Pack. The game will look terribad without it. If possible, get the new texture format name version of it. Hunt around if you have to.
  2. Windows users: Extract Kevlahnota's texture pack into a new folder in Muramasa's folder (RSFP99 / RSFE7U) in Dolphin's texture load folder. Then extract 2K Momohime into a new folder. See example below.

OSX users: Above trick doesn't work, so just extract both texture packs into the same folder. I don't know what happens if the names aren't updated to the new texture format name beforehand, so you're on your own there.
  3. Tick Load Custom Textures in Dolphin, then you're good to go!

Comparison against vanilla texture as well as Kevlahnota's upscale.

Comparison for unsheathed sword, notice the sharper, unaliased edges.

Pre-emptive FAQ
Q: ETA for completed Momo pack?
A: When it's done (since 6 years ago and counting).

Q: What's the point of doing 2K when you can't even see it at 1080p?!?
A: For future proofing? I really don't know, cause I have a 1440p monitor, and only see 50% of the actual size. This is best viewed for them bourgeoisie fellas with 4K monitors. But before you keep calling me an idiot, there is a way to cheat seeing the details by using Dolphin's Free Look hack and zooming in the camera a lot closer (middle mouse button). Of course, this may cause some parts of the action to go offscreen, so experiment to find the balance you are comfortable to game with.

Q: Are you just doing the starter swords?
A: For the time being. Technically they all use the same spriteset with some color-swapping, or at least that's my current assumption. If anyone is up for it, once I'm done with the spriteset for the first sword, you can just apply color filters to create the spritesets for all the other swords when you know the texture name for them as well.

Q: Why just Momohime, and not the ninja dude as well?
A: This dumb project took me years to get this far for Momo-chan. Plus Kisuke has less reference artwork to work with.

Q: Can I use your texture pack without using Kevlahnota's pack?
A: Yes, but it'd look weird against all that blurriness. Plus, the vibrance in my pack matches Kevlah's, not the original.
