Well , I have Chrome IGP Family (We all know its a horrible graphic card for 3D Games >_>) and I am willing to buy a new graphic card but what should I buy?.

I have 4GB Ram (75 Used for Graphic Card) and 4GHZ (75 used for memory) , my computer isn't laggy and it works well , I alredy emulated PS2 Emulator and made it like 60% speed or 50%.

here is my computer description:

Also my graphic card is : "Chrome IGP Family" , I know its bad.

What graphic card should I buy? what do I need to make my Wii Emulator work Perfect or almost full speed or even half speed judging my computer description?

Thanks in advanced :)

With that computer, you'll never see any "full speed" emulation. Unless you can overclock to 7 GHz of course, and even then it's not guaranteed.

A better card will only give you a little-to-medium boost in FPS, and nVidia cards are good for the task: 8800 and upwards.

Still do not expect any full speed results. Maybe in a couple of non-demanding games (or some optimized games that have been through many fixes for it's correct emulation), but that's it.

According to this video , it would work half orignal game speed:

YouTube - Sonic Unleashed on Dolphin Wii/GC Emulator (HQ) | Working |

and the owner have 2GHZ only . 3.5 Ram and a geforce... so why do I need to make it 7 GHZ? can you tell me the issue with my computer and dolphin?

also just to say , I am not planing to use IGP Family Chrome , I am planing to buy a new graphic card. help if possible =p

All I am asking is a playabbility , meaning I want it to be Frame Skipping is ok but I want to make it work playable at least. =\

You want full speed in "your Wii emulator", don't you?

BTW, Sonic games are the least demanding in my experience, even with a C2D@1.8 you get almost 60fps constantly.

The card suggestion is already on the other post. Just don't go ATi.

Dolphin requires a OpenGL supporting graphics card.. and VIA's drivers have never supported opengl properly.

it's not about the clock speed! It's about clock for clock performance. a 8ghz p4 lost to a 3ghz conroe. Also, you can't use frameskipping because the jit can't recompile fast enough.

Well , I said I don't want it any more so , So if I buy a geforce , can I play this game Great at playability?

Yeah I know , Via is horrible that is why I am trying to buy geforce but I only want to see if it makes a difference. I Try to open the game using dolphin and openLG and it doesn't work (I am not surprised) or try D3D and it shows a black screen (I am not suprised) and the sound is slow so I guess , ofcourse I am using via chrome and it suppose to do this lol

you guys recommend what graphic card? is geforce9800 that good?
I take the advice and I won't take ati.

and 1 more question , which is a better plugin OpenLG or D3D9 , becuase I heared openLG normally doesn't start games and an error message says it doesn't have memmory. also the screen shot i posted (its from my computer).

what should I buy to be perfect with minimum requirement games like sonic , My birth day is 30 July so , give me an Idea :)

soo , if I buy a geforce like in the video , could it do much? :???:

try for a GTS250 instead :)

the opengl plugin is updated more often (daily if not weekly) then the directx9 plugin (updated every blue moon)

im not sure on the processor speed actually :) but the GTS250 is decently powered while maintaining affordability

sorry for hijacking the thread, but i am building a new rig and have a question very similar to the OP's.
i'm settled on a core 2 cpu but i am torn between Nvidia and ATI for the gpu (probably HD 4850 or GTS 250). which would be better for dolphin? i've been researching this for weeks but cannot find a definitive answer. any help would be appreciated guys!

oh and for Sonic2036 - you should try and get as fast a Core architecture processor as you can, and then get a GPU to go with that. what i mean is your current pentium isn't fast enough for dolphin no matter what graphics card you have. get a fast cpu (an e5*00 or e7*00 for example) - the fastest that you can afford and that your motherboard will take - and then get the best graphics card that you can afford. hope this helps.

is it ok a intel core 2 , 3GHZ and a Geforce8800?
might as well see my Old possessor. also , the Thread was about to die but it didn't really die so I don't mind XD

I would say, go buy GeForce GTS 250. It's a high end low budget card. Performs very well. I really recommend it. Never buy ATI cards if you don't want crappy drivers/software and other well known problems.
Just go for GeForce!

Yeah, OCing is a good thing. Even when your cpu is fast enough. OCing is fun to do, takes some time, but the results are awesome! I OCed my Q6600 from 2.4 to 3.6, I bought a Z600 cooler. Temps are good and pc is 50% faster!
If you really want to push it up high you should look for watercooling. With water cooling I could reach the 4 ghz eass!

what's wrong with ATI? I can run dolphin just fine...

I don't want to discuss that right here. I'm just saying if you don't want any problems, buy a GeForce card. Maybe you have no problems with ATI but if you just want a piece of hardware that really works great buy GeForce.

I don't wanna discuss that here to but ati ain't as faulty as you say here:

and depending on the budget it can be a good solution, i usually wouldn't meddle but i hate misinformation and exaggerated fanboyism.
