Armored Core: Last Raven - is it really playable?

So I've been trying to emulate my copy of Armored Core: Last Raven.

The PCSX2 compatability list says it's playable (green). I beg to differ.

I've tried setting up the emulator with various configurations, all to no avail. It seems it can never get everything quite right. If the backgrounds work, then the text renders funny. If the game renders properly, then the sound and video stutters. Sometimes it renders upside down. Some menu screens cause my FPS to drop from ~50-60 to ~8. In game there are so many artefacts and jagged edges that you can't actually see what's going on. AA causes a critical error.

    So, long story short:
Is it possible to run AC:LR at an acceptable (and consistant) framerate with proper rendering?

NOte that playable means only that you can finish the game. It says nothing on whether the experience would be enjoyable or not :p. I don't really know about this game though, just pointing this out....

    Haha, touché.

But the question remains, can it be made enjoyable?

Dude you're linking to and old and outdated plugin. please don't do that...

    http://forums.ngemu.com/ps2-plugin-questions-troubleshooting/97657-gsdx.html <- get this

And the whole vista thing you posted in another thread is not always true, depends from game to game... please don't spread unconfirmed rumors...

I use XP SP2 and the X1950 pro is not DX10 compatible.

I will try out the other plugin when posted when I get the chance.
