I'm a veteran of earlier versions of Epsxe, and thus far haven't had any problems until using the 1.7.0 version.

My issue is that I can configure everything fine and run games, however when I close the application down and come to use it again at a later date Epsxe tells me that it can't find the bios, and that all my other config settings are missing.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem, and do you have a workaround?

are you launching the emulator from a shortcut or frontend?

does it detect the plugins? how is your directory path to the main folder written out, how do you exit out of the emulator, and what O/S are you using?

It'll detect the plugins if I go through the wizard, but the boxes will be blank if I go into say, video individually.

    The path is C:\epsxe170

    And I'm using Windows XP.

Oh and to exit I press escape, then file, exit.

Use this tool [ePSXe REG-CLEAN]to erase all your ePSXe configuration in your reg, then back on to your configuration.

PS : Move your ePSXe folder to another partition than the active one (c: ), example D:\ePSXe\... OR D:\PSX\...

are any of the folders in your epsxe directory write protected and are you using an adminstrator account? are you sure you are launching the emulator directly from its executable? ive seen people get problems like this before but they were launching the emulator from a shortcut and they did not have the "run in" field set up right and the emulator ended up looking on the desktop for the BIOS and plugins folders because of that.

Nothing is write protected, and yes I am using the direct executable.

    Baffling I know.

Really, well in that case, do as fellow :

1- You must first clear the current configuration, so repeat the previous step.

2- After that delete your current ePSXe folder and its sub-directories.

3- Scan your PC (full scan), with a good anti virus, and remove any infection you get.

    4- Restart your OS.

5- Re download ePSXe pack, then unpack in a different partition, and keep the files attributes without changing anything on'em.

    This should fix the problem.
Else, your system is damaged and needs an update/fresh setup.

    HAVE FUN.
