Help my play station emulator (epsxe) never had a problem with lag before and now out of the blue it started to lag. I am trying to play Final Fantasy VIII and the game never lags except when the fighting scenes comes up, just the little cut scene before the battle.

    Help what would cause this

    Manufacturer: ASUSTek Computer Inc

    Model: ASUS Notebook K40IJ/K50Ij Series

    Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core
    CPU T4500 @
    2.30 GHz 2.30 GHz

    Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB

    System type: 64-bit Operating System

I am using these settings with my emulator

Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.77 (OpenGL2) say something about pixels and textures.

Texture Quality: R4 G4 B4 A4 -Fast, but less colorful

    Texture filtering: None

    Hi-Res textures: None

    Gfx card vram: 0(Autodetect)

    Use FPS limit

    Auto-detect FPS/Frame skipping limit

    200.00 FPS

Off-Screen drawing: 2-Standard-OK for most games, Alpha MultiPass

Framebuffer textures: 2- Gfx card buffer- Can be slow, Mask bit

Framebuffer access: 3- Gfx card buffer reads and moves, Advanced blending

If someone could help me figure out and fix the lagging problem.

Your Processor probably ain't good for OpenGL.
Change your Framebuffer textures and Framebuffer access to 1.

No it didn't work after I changed the Framebuffer and Framebuffer access to 1. What video plugin should I use or which video plugin is the easiest for a computer to run.

Like I said don't use OpenGL plugin therefore you should try other GPU plugin.
Check this link http://www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm , try the non OpenGL plugin.

Under video config, change the fps limit 10-200 to auto detect fps/frame skipping limit. That seems to work for me.
