    Hello PSXPunK,

Epsxe 1.9.25 has a lot of bugs with the HLE-bios. The next version should be alot better but, i don't know when that is going to be released. I can confirm that

Resident Evil 2 Dual Shock version i beat on epsxe 1.9.25 HLE-Bios. Slackware 14.1 64bit.

    Resident Evil 3 works i beat on epsxe 1.9.25 HLE-Bios.Slackware 14.1 64bit.

However there is issue with overwritting save files with epsxe 1.9.25.

    Hello PSXPunk,

I believe the memory card files should work fine for Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy 9 and Parasite Eve on epsxe 1.9.25. However Final Fantasy Tactics,Final Fantasy 4 and Metal Gear either fails to save or fails to load in epsxe 1.9.25. Also savestate seem to work.

But what is the point of HLE Bios, is it just to simplify things, and no "Real" benefit?

    Hello ZeroWalker,

The real benefit is that the sony bios is copyright and you can not just
use it unless you extracted it from your own console. Most people don't
know how to extract the bios from their own psx console or they may
not have the tools to do it.

But won't using a HLE, which emulated the bios do the same thing, cause copyright infringement?
    Or is that a loophole?

    Hello ZeroWalker,

Playstation emulators don't come with the playstation bios included with the download because that's copyright infringement. The HLE-Bios is not copyrighted thats why emulators can come with an HLE-Bios.

That i get, but i don't get how HLE-Bios doesn't cause copyright infringement,
i guess it's the same sense as an Emulator doesn't cause copyright infringement on the actual console.
