Native res? I would of thought it'd performed better than that even under OpenGL_ES

It's at 1080p resolution internal at 1920x1584, but at native 4/3 display.

So it's no better at lower res 720p or 2.5x still the micro-stutter and slowdown in built-up areas? although ever so slightly decreased with vulkan.

It's a bit better at lower res 720p, but there is still a CPU bottleneck with the ARMv8. For a pre-release version of the Vulkan render, it's pretty good actually. I've noticed performance improvement in a few other games as well.

The microstutter is from the shader compilation. It's not as prevalent once it's been cached.

Is their much leeway in overclocking the Shield Android TV?
I was thinking of picking one up at the end of the year mainly for Kodi.

Does it fix their broken AA in which anything past x1 annihilates framerate?

I'm not getting any super low framerates with 4xAA at 1080p. The framerate does go down, but only by 3 fps from 30 fps to 27-28 fps. With 2xAA, you don't even notice a performance drop. I can tell AA is enabled as I see AA edges.

If they can increase performance from the Vulkan render, it could be playable AA. I also enabled 16xAF and have no difference in performance.

It's a bit of a small enclosure so I'm not sure how much overclocking you'll be able to get. I've read some got their CPU to 2.5 from 2.2.

it's improved on 1080p. But I do notice now that they mislabeled it. It says its an AA option yet msaa as the options which would be the reason for the past horrible fps. at 4k, horrible fps remains. Even at just x2. With it just at x1, fps is fine.

Nvidia can use FXAA on Android.
